The Importance of Peacekeeping Efforts

Since time immemorial, groups have been organized for peacekeeping missions. These organizations contribute largely in initiating peace talks between countries having a disparity. Without them peace all over the world must be a taboo.

Although, the status of peace among several countries is not perfect the efforts in keeping a relatively peaceful earth must be recognized. Due credit must be given to those who travel across oceans in an endeavor to prevent wars. This is also one way of put a stop to terrorism and their acts of annihilation.

For those who think that the peacekeeping efforts are futile, damnation to you for being so critical. It is no child’s play for them. In fact, some volunteers who go on a peacekeeping mission has to leave the comforts and safety of their homes in view of the world’s betterment.

Concerned individuals who are courageous enough to join organizations with the objective of unity among nations are doing these missions. Despite of the lack of comfort whenever they are deployed in countries that are in the middle of a waging war, they do not hesitate to offer their services knowing that a greater good awaits. They are willing to do everything they can in order to make the world a better place to live in.

I could not imagine what it would be like if these peacekeeping organizations do not exist. The thought of almost every country amassing their artilleries and building nuclear power plants is just so daunting. I would not want my children or their children to live in fear that anytime a bomb would explode and tear them to shreds.

Peacekeeping efforts are truly important. They provide us the hope that someday all these waging wars would cease and lives will no longer be lost in the battlefield. No matter how long it would take for the world to be really at peace, no one should give up and just succumb to the repugnance of living in chaos.

We are very fortunate that there people out there who do not remain complacent amidst the uproar. We benefit from all these peacekeeping missions without even knowing it.
